In and around Brixton

Here are a few other places in and around Brixton I think are worth a visit...

Brockwell Park is sort of between Herne Hill  and Brixton. I love this park because mostly locals come here and it is well looked after without being to artificial. In Summer, people celebrate the Lambeth music festival here.

The Ritzy Cinema is located on the now very nicely turned out Brixton Central Square. It has a cute café downstairs and a swanky bar upstairs with a cool roof terrace. Obviously, it shows films as well. Anything, from blockbuster to European artsy flick.

Franco Manca is a great place to eat reasonable but amazing pizza at lunch time. It is located on Brixton Market.

Love at first sight

I never felt like a tourist in London. Not even when I ended up in Brixton. It would have been no surprise had a packed my bags and went straight back to the Bavairan village but instead I loved it! These new places seemed so urban, so cool and so different from what I knew. These places now are conected with lots of great memories.

Yes, Brixton has its reputation but I have never felt uncomfortable or in danger here. This is the market and the things you can get here range from exotic food to African dresses. Especially, for food lovers s, this is a source of inspiration as well as an endless playground to spend hours at.

My favourite thing about Brixton market is the lovely cafe Rosies. This place has become really famous ( but I knew it before!). Foodies should buy a copy of the cook book "Spooning with Rosie".

This is were I live now.

I moved to London for love (what better reason could there be?). But whilst falling out of love with the guy quickly I fell in love deeper and deeper with this amazing city. I cannot get tired of admiring London, especially at night.

From the start...

Hello and welcome to my blog. If you have come here by accident and want to leave that is fair enough I won´t take it personal. This is my first blog so please don´t be mean. I just want to collect what I see, like, dislike and use this as my virtual diary (without the who do I fancy part of a diary)
